As Siliconera detailed before, Nintendo’s amiibo figurines have to comply to the CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act), which means that whenever an amiibo is restocked it appears on Nintendo’s CPSIA Certificates of Compliance page.
Recently, a large selection of some of the rarest amiibo appeared in these documents, apparently receiving another month of production in North America (thanks Nintendo Inquirer).
What’s special about these particular amiibo is that they qualify as “unicorns” on the amiibo rarity scale. According to this fan-made scale, unicorns are found at 0 percent to 5 percent of retailers. In other words, they’re the hardest amiibo to find.
The unicorns in this restock includes Villager, Fox, Wii Fit Trainer, Captain Falcon, Pit, Lucario, and Rosalina and Luma figurines. Other amiibo listed in the documents that are more common include Dark Pit, Green Yarn Yoshi, Toad, Bowser, Zero Suit Samus, Jigglypuff, Charizard, Ness, Sonic, Zelda, Link, Pikachu, and Mario – Silver Edition.
Nintendo hasn’t yet officially announced any restocks of these amiibo apart from Wii Fit Trainer. But with the discovery of these documents we’re expecting it to come soon. It might be something that Nintendo talks about during E3.
