Ever since Sony closed down their Wipeout studio and Nintendo expressed their disinterest in making a new F-Zero, other game developers have begun creating projects of their own that are inspired by the two futuristic racers.

That said, while there are quite a few ambitious Wipeout and F-Zero “clones” in development at the moment, one of them is actually coming this year, and it’s from a developer with a proven track record. That game is FAST: Racing Neo by Shin’en, who will release the high-speed racer for Wii U later this year.

Today, Shin’en revealed the first in-game screenshots of FAST from an alpha build of the game, adding that more information on the title would be shared at E3. You can find the screens above and below.

We’ll have more information on FAST in the future.
