LovePlus series’ senior producer Akari Uchida and character designer Mino Taro recently announced their departure from Konami, but the company issued a statement telling fans not to worry, as they will continue making games for both the LovePlus and Tokimeki series.
After news broke on the LovePlus producer and character designer leaving the company, many fans voiced their concern regarding whether we would see another LovePlus or Tokimeki Memorial title. Konami posted the following statement in response to these concerns:
“Konami’s LovePlus and Tokimeki Memorial series are valuable content that has been loved by our costumers for many years, and we will continue to produce and offer them, so please look forward to it, and we ask of you to continue to support the series.
As for Uchida and Mino Taro, the two don’t have any plans for the immediate future, but the former LovePlus producer said that he’d like to keep up the pace and continue doing what he does.
Meanwhile, Mino Taro changed his pen name to “Minoboshi Taro,” which he will use as a fresh new start as a freelance illustrator for the time being. (He did this as his previous name was a part of his former employers, Konami.)
