Disgaea 5 Blends The Item World With FFX’s Sphere Grid To Create Character Worlds

Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance has Item Worlds and new for the PlayStation 4 game – Character Worlds. Players can dive into characters to unlock abilities and boost stats. Character Worlds are played like a board game similar to Final Fantasy X’s Sphere Grid, but you spin a slot reel instead of using sphere levels to move.

Enemies appear in the Character World are fought with slot spinning too. Players can use items to warp around the board and it’s possible to see events inside the Character World.

Nippon Ichi Software also shared a few screenshots from Disgaea 5’s opening anime. The PlayStation 4 game comes out in Japan on March 26. A Western release is slated for this fall.
