Atlus held a special Etrian Odyssey livestream this morning on Nico Nico, where Spike Chunsoft’s Koichi Nakamura joined them to announce Etrian Odyssey and Mystery Dungeon, a new collaboration title for the Nintendo 3DS.
The Mystery Dungeon series started out as roguelike spin-off the Dragon Quest series with Torneko no Daiboken. It later gained more popularity with the Shiren the Wanderer series and in the rest of the world with the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games.
Etrian Odyssey is the next series is getting the Mystery Dungeon treatment, with Etrian Odyssey and Mystery Dungeon (yes, that’s the title of the game) for Nintendo 3DS, where you’ll see various characters from the series in a roguelike adventure.
Etrian Odyssey and Mystery Dungeon will release in Japan on March 5, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.
