Final Fantasy XV producer Hajime Tabata recently shared the latest on the game during the Paris Game Festival. During an interview with French video game website, Gamekult, he shared a little more on Final Fantasy XV’s current development status.

During the interview, Tabata started out with some of the latest on Final Fantasy Type-0, which you can also read about in our earlier report. The Final Fantasy XV bit starts at the 6:30 mark.

According to Tabata, the development staff have been in high spirits since revealing the latest information for Final Fantasy XV during Tokyo Game Show 2014 and from the warm reception it got from fans.

As far as the game’s development goes, the director commented that it’s going extremely smoothly. However, Square Enix are about to enter the stage of producing the master-build for the game, and Tabata said that their current number of staff members is lacking for this stage, so they’ve been actively recruiting for their Tokyo office.

Next, Tabata revealed that while Final Fantasy XV is still in the midst of development, they already have an idea for an estimated release window for the game.

“We have a general idea of what year and period [of the year] we’re targeting for its release,” said Tabata about Final Fantasy XV. “And we’re at a stage where we’re putting everything we toward [the release window].” “However, Tabata added, “I believe that it might take just a little bit longer than you’d hope for.”

Final Fantasy XV is in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
