Mexican developer Ansimuz Games has announced that it has finished production on its action-adventure Elliot’s Quest, and that it will be coming to Wii U and OUYA in early 2015. It will first release on PC in December 2014, though.
Ansimuz calls Elliot’s Quest a “spiritual successor to Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.” In it, you play as Elliot as he traverses the dangerous Urele island in search of an ancient demon that is consuming his vitality.
Elliot needs to confront the demon and find a way to cure the curse it has cast upon him, otherwise he will turn into a Satar. Aside from that grim end, the curse causes Elliot to be plagued by nightmares, to grow weaker by the day, and renders him unable to kill himself.
There are five dungeons to get Elliot through, 16 bosses to battle, as well as puzzles to solve and lots of treasure to find. There are some light RPG elements mixed in, allowing you to level up and customize Elliot’s abilities, including various magic spells.
Elliot’s Quest will cost $9.99 on Windows, Mac, and Linux when it’s released next month.
