Sega is going back in time with the Yakuza series, but not back to feudal Japan. Yakuza Zero takes place in 1988 when Yakuza protagonist Kazuma Kiryu is just 20 years old. He’s just a debt collector in the fictional Tokyo region, Kamurocho. Goro Majima is in Yakuza Zero too, but far from Kazuma managing a cabaret club in Soutenburi, a fictional area in Osaka.

Yakuza Zero is set in the past, so arcades are populated with retro Sega games like Space Harrier, Fantasy Zone, and OutRun. These games can be streamed onto a PlayStation Vita via remote play. Yakuza Zero also a telephone club where you can chat with girls and a mini-game where you help Goro run his cabaret club.

Yakuza Zero is scheduled to come out on March 12, 2015 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
