God Eater 2: Rage Burst will add all kinds of new features and content to the original game, including a new weapon called the Valiant Scythe. This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine shares more on what else is new. [Thanks, Game Jouhou.]

God Eater 2: Rage Burst adds a new system called “Skill Install,” where you’ll get items called “Left Behind God Arc” that can be found after clearing missions. The Left Behind God Arcs can then be synthesized to install skills into your current God Arc.

Each God Arc weapon will have four skill slots, where you’ll get to insert them with various skills found in the Left Behind God arcs. The skills can be overwritten with other skills, but they can’t be deleted.

Additionally, God Eater 2: Rage Burst adds numerous new Blood Arts to currently existing weapons. As for how many new Blood Arts, Bandai Namco say that it’ll be “more than you could ask for”.

The Fenrir special forces unit, Blood, will also get a new variety for their outfit, and attributed weapons are said to play a bigger role as far as combat goes for the upcoming version of the game.

The game will also feature new scenes, and the return of the system where characters could send you mail, which was absent in God Eater 2. The mail system will work in both the God Eater 2 and Rage Burst parts of the game.

As far as save data goes, PSP data of God Eater 2 can be transferred to God Eater 2: Rage Burst on PlayStation Vita, and the Vita version’s data can transfer to the PlayStation 4 version of the upcoming game.

God Eater 2: Rage Burst will release in Japan sometime this Winter for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
