This morning, The Pokémon Company launched the Pokémon TCG Online app for the iPad and iPad Mini in the United Kingdom, France, New Zealand and Europe. Tomorrow, September 30th, the app will be launch in the U.S., followed by other markets in America, Europe, Asia and Africa later in the week. (It’s already available in Canada.)

The app will be free-to-play and will allow you to play the online version of the Pokémon Trading Card Game on your iOS device, as long as you have access to a Wi-Fi connection or your device’s Internet data plan.

The app will provide a similar experience to the TCG on PC and Mac, and your digital card collection will follow you across whatever device you’re playing on. To incentivize players to begin using the iPad app, The Pokémon Company will give TCG Online players a number of free decks to get started.

Additionally, players that purchase physical theme decks, booster packs or other Pokémon TCG products will also receive a code card that unlocks digital cards for the TCG Online game.
