Instead of featuring the C-stick or extra CPU power the New Nintendo 3DS has, Nintendo is advertising how customizable the system is. Nintendo hired J-pop fashionista Kyary Pamyu Pamyu for a commercial that shows how you swap faceplates to change how the system looks. The best part is when Kirby absorbs Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s style.
Nintendo has a gallery of faceplates including Mario, Animal Crossing, and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate ones here. Faceplate prices range from 1,000 yen for solid color faceplates to 1,500 yen for more stylish designs. Faceplates will be available on October 11, the same day New Nintendo 3DS ships in Japan.
