As detailed in our previous coverage of the game’s sales, Bayonetta 2 sold far less than the original Bayonetta at launch (135,242 copies on PlayStation 3 and 64,325 copies on Xbox 360). Media Create says that this is partly due to the differences between the Wii U and PS3 (and 360’s) audiences, but also the difference in the size of their userbases.

When Bayonetta was released, the PlayStation 3 had sold 3.73 million units in Japan. Meanwhile, the Wii U has only sold 1.93 million units in the territory thus far.
