Sega recently revealed their latest online RPG, which will be a “theatrical online RPG” for smartphones, PC and Vita. They also shared a look at the game’s prologue clip during Tokyo Game Show 2014.
The trailer starts out with details on the game’s story that takes place in a world that has been brought to ruins due to a war amongst dragons.
Now that the fight has ended, mankind has begun to re-grow civilization by building towns on the backs of dragon remains. However, this is easier said than done, as they’ll face attacks from monsters and even other humans.
Valkyria Chronicles producer Shinji Motoyama is also producing the game, which will have a bit theme of survival with a protagonist who leads a “Hunting Corps” group. At 1:27 in the trailer, they show off some of the game’s key characters, and surprisingly, with details in English.
While the game will be on three different platforms, save data can be shared across all of them, and it will also feature cross-platform cooperative play, along with elements that will change the world according to the players’ action.
The World End Eclipse will release in winter 2014 for smartphone, PC and Vita in Japan.
