Yakuza series producer Toshihiro Nagoshi made an appearance during the Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia Press Conference 2014 to talk about Sega’s recently revealed title, Yakuza Zero.

During the presentation trailer, they showed a little bit of Kazuma Kiryu giving someone a good beating, which could’ve been from his earlier days as a debt collector.

Nagoshi also explains that the game takes place in the ‘80s during the Japanese asset price bubble, a period of time that was characterized by rapid acceleration of asset prices and overheated economic activity, with uncontrolled money supply and credit expansion.

With that, you could get a good idea of how busy Kiryu must’ve been when he was still new to the Tojo Clan. You can read more about the game’s setting, along with Kiryu and Majima’s activity during the period, in our earlier report.

Yakuza Zero is in development for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
