Sony have shared a release date for Freedom Wars in North America and Europe with IGN. The game will be available on October 28th in North America and October 31st in Europe. Both territories will see a retail release.

In addition, Sony say that “participating retailers” (and PSN) will offer pre-order DLC costumes, including a formal wear costume, two starter weapons, an in-game limited edition sticker set, and a medical supply set.

Freedom Wars is a mission-based cooperative action game in the same vein as Monster Hunter and its ilk, and takes place in a future dystopia where you can be handed prison sentences extending to 1 million years.

Inmates have the option of shaving years off their sentences by partaking in battles against rival city-states called Panopticons, and are assisted by AI-controlled android partners that can be customized to your liking.

Freedom Wars is developed by God Eater studio Shift, in collaboration with Dimps and Sony Computer Entertainment.
