ChinaJoy is one of Asia’s largest gaming expos, and this year’s convention concluded a couple of weeks ago. At the event, MMO developer Tencent showed off Monster Hunter Online, and have uploaded a new trailer for the game.

Monster Hunter Online is an online game based in part on Monster Hunter Frontier G, and is being developed by Tencent in collaboration with the Frontier team at Capcom.

One of the differences between the two is that Monster Hunter Online will be a free-to-play title and is being designed specifically for the Chinese market, although Capcom have not ruled out a release in Japan.

Monster Hunter Online is one of Capcom’s many attempts at growing their business in Asian territories. The game is being developed using CryEngine 3.
