Square Enix’s Chief Technology Officer, Yoshihisa Hashimoto, has parted ways with the company, and while a replacement for his CTO position hasn’t been found yet, his other responsibilities within the company will be taken over by existing Square Enix staff.

Game Watch reports that Hashimoto (above), in addition to being Square Enix’s CTO, was the head of the team overseeing the company’s Luminous Engine as well as the Technical Director of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

Following his departure, Driancourt Remi has taken over Hashimoto’s responsibilities as manager of Square’s Advanced Technology Division. Meanwhile, Hideyuki Kasuga will take over as the Technical Director of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

Square Enix say that Hashimoto left the company for “personal reasons,” and that he will still serve in an advisory capacity with regard to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
