It was previously reported that Yo-kai Watch 2 had 814,00 pre-orders from consumers across its two versions in Japan. Famitsu reports that it’s been estimated that the game has already outsold its predecessor in just four days.

According to Famitsu’s domestic estimated sales number for Yo-kai Watch 2: Head and Founder, the game has sold around 1.28 million copies, including both versions, but not digital sales, from July 10th – 13th, for a total of four days in sales.

Meanwhile, Famitsu’s domestic estimated total sales number for the first game, Yo-kai Watch, at around 1.18 million copies that sold from July 11, 2013 to July 13, 2014.

While these are still estimated numbers from Famitsu’s part, keep in mind that the first game surpassed one million units in Japan back in late April, about nine months after its release and its sudden booming popularity that started back in January. With 814,000 pre-orders a week prior to its release, the numbers really seem to add up.

Yo-kai Watch 2: Head and Yo-kai Watch 2: Founder are currently available in Japan for Nintendo 3DS.
