We recently reported that Secret Bases are back in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. In the remakes, you’ll be customize a secret base to make your very own Pokémon Gym, and more. Over in Japan, The Pokémon Company revealed a little more about Secret Bases today. Here’s a look, courtesy of 4Gamer.
The basics are still the same as in the original games. The above screenshots illustrate how you can first start making your Secret Base after finding a suitable spot.
Once you’ve settled in, you can use the PC to customize your Secret Base with all kinds of different items, and decorate it any way you like.
As previously reported, you can scout for trainers and invite them by visiting other Secret Bases, and they’ll join you as “Secret Pals”. You’ll be able to interact and battle with them, and even give your little crew a name, like the “Secret Omega Troupe” as shown above.
In addition to getting items, the Secret Pals will help make your Pokémon eggs hatch faster, along with another feature that lets you raise the level of one of your Pokémon by one.
Here’s a closer look at what it’s like being your own Gym Leader in the Secret Base, and a look at capturing flags and ranking up:
Again, your Secret Base can also be shared via QR Code, which seems to also share how many flags you’ve acquired thus far, along with your crew’s name and a personal message.
Aarune is one of the new characters, who is known as the master of Secret Bases. He’s an adventurer who travels around the world but seems to have settled in the Hoenn region.
While Aarune is an overall cool guy who’ll be there to tell you more about the Secret Bases and how fun they are, you can also battle him and his trusted partner Flygon.
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be released in November 2014 for Nintendo 3DS.
