The new Super Smash Bros. will have a new mini-game called “Trophy Rush,” director Masahiro Sakurai said over Miiverse last night.

The details of this game, pictured above, are being kept under wraps for now, Sakurai said, but he mentioned that it would be “quite a bit different from Coin Launcher in Super Smash Bros. Brawl”.

Recently, Sakurai also confirmed that the Home-run Contest mini-game is back in the Nintendo 3DS version of the game as well.

Sakurai stated: “It’s been streamlined with added features here and there, like sturdier glass and doubled speed for long hits. You can also have fun comparing your rankings for this mini-game with your Global Smash Power.”

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS will be released this October. The Wii U version of the game will follow later this holiday season.
