Siliconera met with Grasshopper Manufacture CEO Goichi Suda to talk about Let It Die, an upcoming PlayStation 4 game and the first title developed with GungHo Online Entertainment.

"The theme of Let it Die is survival action. We see the player kill enemies and on the flip side, you’re just trying to survive. When you think about the title, another way of looking at it is you’re trying to live. In the trailer there is a scene where a character grabs sand from the ground and throws it at the enemy. You can kind of see what players will do when they don’t have items or weapons in the beginning and they’re fighting to survive. The violence in this game is just a byproduct of trying to survive," explained Suda.

Let it Die will be a free to play game for PlayStation 4. While Suda didn’t reveal what kinds of items will be sold he said Let it Die will not be a pay to win game. What’s really interesting about Let It Die is what happens when you die. Basically, your character goes into the cloud… and you’re reincarnated into another player’s game as an enemy. Suda has a little doodle to explain how this works.

"When a player plays a regular game and die that data dies too. What happens in Let It Die, the player data goes into this cloud. They’re part of the game now. Enemies have different characteristics, different visuals, different ways of attacking because they were different people," Suda said to Siliconera. We’ll have more about Let It Die after E3.

Let it Die is in development for PlayStation 4 and slated for release in 2015. The game will be published by GungHo Online Entertainment America.
