In a financial results briefing released this morning, Square Enix outlined a few of the company’s major initiatives going forward. These are:

  • New major games released for smart devices, with more to come.

  • Expanding overseas activities, primarily in Asia, including the introduction of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn in mainland China. Introducing new games for online and smart devices through local partners in Asian territories.

  • Launch of large‐scale online titles developed by Western studios starting from the fiscal year ending March 2015.

Final Fantasy Agito, a new Final Fantasy game for smart devices in Japan, is listed one of Square’s major titles, along with a sequel to Kaku-San Sei Million Arthur, slated for release this calendar year. Square Enix also shared that Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light has seen over 5 million downloads since its release.

Finally, Square Enix also say that they are considering bringing Dragon Quest X “overseas,” but by this, they could mean that they plan to release the title in Asian territories.
