An updated version of Toukiden is coming to the PSP and PlayStation Vita in Japan, this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine reports. (Thanks, Game Jouhou) You may recall Tecmo Koei filing a trademark for the game.

Toukiden Kyoku (or Toukiden Extreme, when translated to English) will feature twice the amount of demons as Toukiden. One of the new demons in the game will be  who shows up three months after the events of Toukiden. Also featured is a new NPC, Koyomi, who carries a new Naginata weapon.

Toukiden Extreme will also feature more equipment. Included in the game are projectile weapons, armour, spirits and special moves. The game is being developed by Omega Force, the studio that developed Toukiden and most of the Warriors games.

The game will also be adding more to the main story, with a volume that is said to be just as long as the main story from the first game, which will make it about twice as long as before.

Toukiden Extreme is currently halfway through development and will be released in Japan sometime in 2014. The game will cost 4,800 yen on PSP and 5,800 yen on Vita. Their respective download versions will go for 4,286 yen and 5,143 yen.
