Earlier this evening, Marvelous AQL held a livestream event where they showed off the first gameplay footage from Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson for the Nintendo 3DS, and judging by the footage (recorded by Nintendo Everything), the game looks to have taken quite the leap in quality above Senran Kagura Burst.

As previously reported, Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson will feature two new playable characters, named Naraku and Kagura. Additionally, one of the male characters from the previous games will be made playable as well.

Marvelous AQL have also added co-op and tag-team modes to the game, as well as tag-team attacks. Presumably, Senran Kagura 2 has a larger budget than Senran Kagura Burst did, as the in-game footage looks much smoother than before.

Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson is scheduled for release on August 7th. A limited edition pack, dubbed the “Nyuu Nyuu DX Pack,” will be available at launch. It will include five mini-figurines of the ninjas from the Homura Crimson Squad and a drama CD. First-print copies will also include the game’s entire soundtrack.
