Amzy usually helps other developers create games. Phosphorescent Lanze is one of their few original titles and it looks impressive. This fast 3DS shooter has a smooth frame rate and the mech you control can switch between two modes.
In flight form, your move fast which is helpful when flying long distances. You also have lock-on missiles that can hit multiple targets and a powerful charge shot. Flight mode also makes it easier to shake off missiles and your attack power is a smidge higher. The downside is you can’t make quick movements and you have a wide turning radius. Also, Amzy says you need more skill to target enemies in flight mode.
Fighting mode gives you more momentum and makes it easier to target enemies. However, this mode isn’t suited for long distance travel or fighting multiple enemies. Players can also purchase different subunits that changes how their ship performs like lowering defense, but greatly raising attack power.
Phosphorescent Lanze comes out on December 4 as an eShop download in Japan. The game is only 1,000Â yen ($10)
