Earlier this month, it was revealed that a new Pokémon game featuring series mascot Pikachu is currently in the works, and while details are scarce, it is said to be a game that will be using “playfulness” as a weapon to take on the world. Japanese TV network NHK shared a glimpse of the “top secret” title earlier today.
In addition to examining the success behind the Pokémon franchise, NHK’s TV program, called “Professional—Style of Work,” will be showcasing a behind-the-scenes look at the development of the “top secret Pokémon” game, that will be featuring Pikachu. This will be the first time a development of a Pokémon title will be shown to the public.
While not much of the game was shown in the sneak peek, we get a glimpse at what appears to be someone holding a magnifying glass to look at Pikachu, and another part that shows what looks like motion-capture to control Pikachu’s facial expression. You can watch a clip from the episode at this link.
Pokémon producer and CEO of the Pokémon Company Tsunekazu Ishihara will be making an appearance in the full episode of the special program, which will be airing on October 28. You can spot him in the video preview, too.
