While Harvest Moon: A New Beginning came out last year in Japan and North America (with a more recent release in Europe,) Marvelous AQL are already working on the next title, called Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land for Nintendo 3DS.
This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine shares the latest details. Similar to Harvest Moon: A New Beginning, you’ll have the option to pick between a male or female protagonist in Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land. The farming will also be made to be a little more simple in the upcoming installment; however, the overall flow of the game will be similar to previous Harvest Moon titles.
As you progress through the story, you’ll be able to visit a safari, where you’ll get to encounter and take care of wild animals. In addition to having an increase of wild animals over time, the magazine reports that there will be about twice the variety of animals compared to past titles.
There will also be a new “Trade Station” feature, where crops and dairy products can be traded to other countries. Over time, the amount of countries which you’ll be trading items with will increase, and you’ll also get to visit them on vacations or to deliver items they might need.
Additionally, this time, there will be other ranchers who’ll serve as tutorial purpose characters, each with their own personalities to guide you through different aspects of the game. Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land will also bring back fishing, and there will also be other features that involve playing in rivers.
Something interesting to note is that, the meaning of “Connect” in the title implies communication features, but it shares another meaning of “connecting to the game’s world”. A Streetpass feature will also be available for you to share personal data with other players.
Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land is slated for release on February 2014 for Nintendo 3DS.
