Hometown Story, the new game by Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada, has a release date in North America. Natsume will publish the game on October 22nd.
As detailed in past reports, Hometown Story is a shop and life simulation game, similar to Harvest Moon. The game takes place in the town you grew up in, and has you taking over your grandmother’s shop, following her passing.
You’re assisted by a magical sprite named Pochica, and throughout the game, you’ll get to interact with the townsfolk, building up your relationship with them and getting to know them better. Like in Harvest Moon, you’ll also be able to fall in love and eventually get married to the girl or guy of your choice.
Additionally, Hometown Story involves a wish system. At some point in the game, you’ll get to make a wish. Six of the game’s wishes make other characters happy, while one wish is to make your character happy. You’re only allowed to pick a single wish, and depending on your choice, the game will split into one of two branches.
Hometown Story has music by Nobuo Uematsu and art by Atsuko Nishida, who was behind the design of a number of Pokémon characters, including Pikachu. You can watch a trailer for the game here.
