Samurai Warriors 4 Coming In Spring 2014 For PS3 And Vita

While Dynasty Warriors 8 with Xtreme Legends has been confirmed as a PlayStation 4 launch title, Samurai Warriors 4 is just for PlayStation 3 and Vita. Famitsu reports the game is slated for release in spring 2014.

Mitsunari Ishida, Hanbei Takenaka, Nobuyuki Sanada, Yoshitsugu Otani, Yukimura Sanada, Inahime, and Kanbei Kuroda are confirmed as playable characters. Altogether, the game will have over 50 playable characters.

Samurai Warriors 4 also has character switching where you have two characters in one stage similar to the Nintendo 3DS game, Samurai Warriors: Chronicles (pictured). The game also has a new mode where you can fulfill requests with a custom general you create. The magazine also mentions two new moves Godspeed Action and Secret Musou.

Update: Goemon Ishikawa and Musashi Miyamoto are playable characters in Samurai Warriors 4 too. The main story tells the history of the unification of Japan from Sanada’s perspective. There is also another storyline that shows history from another character’s perspective.
