Dragon Quest Monsters 2 is getting a remake in the same way Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry’s Wonderland 3D entered the third dimension. The Nintendo 3DS version, Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca’s Marvelous Mysterious Key, brings both protagonists together. In the original version for Game Boy Color, Enix released a separate game for each hero.

Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca’s Marvelous Mysterious Key has a revised battle system too that lets players bring up to four monsters to battle. The game has over 800 monsters including monsters from Dragon Quest X. You can recruit new monsters by doing a scout attack which shows you the probability of getting a monster to join your team.

Like other modern entries, Dragon Quest Monsters 2 supports StreetPass, local multiplayer, and online multiplayer so you can fight other trainers throughout Japan. Right now, the game has only been announced for Japan.
