Hyperdimension Neptunia is getting a total makeover for PlayStation Vita care of Felistella, the developer of Summon Night 5. Hyperdimension Neptunia Re:Birth 1 has character models on par with Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory. Re:Birth 1 also utilizes the battle system from Victory and the Active Animation system for conversations too. Character portraits for IF and Compa when they are standing have been redrawn too.
Dengeki PlayStation reports the story has been revised by series director Onodera too. Hyperdimension Neptunia Re:Birth 1 will have a remade main story plus new events and conversations made just for the Vita version. Even the CPUs are different, they wear glasses in Re:Birth 1. Why do the CPUs have glasses? Well, they can be in disguise when they visit other lands.
Initially, Neptunia was going to be a basic port, but then Compile Heart wanted to add in the gameplay systems from Hyperdimension Neptunia V. When they decided to do that they thought about revising the story too. Felistella was chosen as the developer since the two companies worked together on Record of Agarest War Mariage and because Felistella has a commitment to moe.
While core Neptunia characters like IF and Compa are confirmed for Hyperdimension Neptunia Re:Birth 1 the magazine didn’t say anything about cameo console mascots that come from other games like NISA or Gust.
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re:Birth 1 will be available in Japan on October 31.
