Today’s Japan-only Nintendo Direct presentation focused on two of Capcom’s most anticipated 3DS titles—Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies and Monster Hunter 4. While the entire presentation was shorter than usual, we got a peek at some new new Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies footage.
The new trailer shows off some familiar faces in Phoenix Wright, Apollo Justice and Miles Edgeworth, both in court and sipping on some tea with a curious smirk on his face. The trailer begins around the 2:40 mark.
In addition, the trailer shows new footage of the heart reader, Athena Cykes, who appeared to be in distress in what looked like a ruined courtroom. The new prosecutor serving a prison sentence, Jin Yuugami, is shown giving Phoenix Wright a hard time in the courtroom, and the detective Gouzou Ban is shown being his hot-headed self.
We also get a glimpse of Athena’s Mood Matrix device, being used to examine Yumemi Tenma’s emotions for a case involving her father and the death of a youkai enthusiast village’s mayor.
A demo for Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies will be available to download in Japan sometime in June through the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies is slated for release on July 25th in Japan and this Fall in the West on Nintendo 3DS.
