samurai The Mysterious Murasame Castle was one of the early Famicom Disk System games along with the Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels. So far, The Mysterious Murasame Castle has only been released in Japan even though the game’s main character Takamaru showed up overseas.

Takamaru is a playable character in Samurai Warriors 3 which Nintendo published in the West and Takamaru’s Ninja Castle in Nintendo Land is based on The Mysterious Murasame Castle. It took over 25 years, but it looks like gamers will finally be able to play the original game.

A rating for The Mysterious Murasame Castle popped up in Australia’s Classification Board filed by Nintendo. Unless they are working on a surprise remake, this will be a Virtual Console digital import. The question is will it be available for Nintendo 3DS or Wii U.
