Cave Story Creator Bringing Two More Games To 3DS

Daisuke “Pixel” Amaya’s other games—the ones that aren’t named Cave Story—are headed to the Nintendo eShop for the 3DS as well. Nicalis will be publishing both games in the first quarter of 2013.

Ikachan features visuals similar to Cave Story but takes place in an underwater cave. You play as a squid named Ikachan who wakes up inside the cave and has to find his way out, going through a large underwater kingdom afflicted by earthquakes and famine. Ikachan will be released on January 31st.

Meanwhile, Guxt is a vertical shoot-em-up. The 3DS version will include the option to hold the system sideways, so that the the entirety of the top-screen can be used for a vertical display mode. Guxt doesn’t have a release date yet.
