Ace Attorney Investigations 2 is the only game in the Ace Attorney series that hasn’t been released outside of Japan yet, and plans for an eventual release are still up in the air. However, rest assured, Capcom do know that you want it.
A while ago, Capcom ran a survey asking fans what downloadable games they’d like to see, and what Capcom franchises they care about most, with the Ace Attorney series listed among them.
A concerned fan took to the Capcom forums to ask if the fact that Ace Attorney Investigations 2 wasn’t specifically mentioned meant that Capcom had lost interest in eventually making the game available outside Japan.
This isn’t the case, according to Capcom Senior VP, Christian Svensson, who replied with the following post:
1. Still no news to share
2. Ace Attorney was a choice in the franchise lists. That is all that is necessary.
3. The demand for AAI2 is not something that is unknown to us and thus not something that needs to be demonstrated further.
A while ago, Svensson shared that he had put in “aggressive” forecasts for the upcoming Ace Attorney 5, which has been announced for a western release. At the time, he also added that, while Ace Attorney Investigations 2 “isn’t being held hostage,” higher-than-expected sales for Ace Attorney 5 would prove helpful in bringing the game over.
And that concludes your bi-quaterly update on the current state of Ace Attorney Investigations 2.
