Metal Gear Solid series creator, Hideo Kojima, shared at his Penny Arcade Expo talk today, that the title of the next major Metal Gear game refers to an origin.

“Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes” is meant to evoke the feeling of the original Metal Gear Solid in the Fox Engine. Kojima says he’s creating this game personally, himself.

Ground Zeroes isn’t Metal Gear Solid 5, however. Instead, Kojima says it’s a prologue to Metal Gear Solid 5.

A trailer for Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes will be made available later today. The game’s target platforms have yet to be officially announced, but Kojima says that the game in its current state is what it should look like on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

However, he added, Kojima Productions are working on next generation hardware as well.
