Speaking with the PlayStation blog, Tales series producer, Hideo Baba, once again reiterates that he hopes to bring more Tales titles to the west in the future.
“Given the current resources assigned to the Tales of series team, I am always trying to find ways to assign staff members to work on a Western localized title as well as a new game for Japan when possible,” Baba shares.
“However, the team’s main objective is to create new titles for Japan first, and unfortunately staff resources are not always available. Moving forward, I would really like to assemble teams to release as many of the main Tales of games overseas as possible.”
Speaking to Tales of Xillia, Baba says that the game’s new art style is the result of a desire to reach new fans while keeping the old ones around. This carries over to the game’s characters as well. For example, Milla is designed to be a strong female character that women can look up to.
As far as content goes, there will be no differences between the Japanese and overseas versions of Tales of Xillia. This holds true for downloadable content as well.
Tales of Xillia will be released in 2013 for the PlayStation 3.
