Like Namco X Capcom, Project X Zone has original characters. Famitsu revealed Kogoro Tenzai (left), a detective who is a descendent from a ninja clan. He takes other jobs because so far detective work has run dry. Kogoro is a master of ninjutsu and is armed with a Nyoraitou which connects to another blade. He also has concealed wire blades attached to his feet.
Mii Kouryuji (right) is a high school student with a hot temper and a bit of a selfish personality. From a young age, she trained with a monk on how to use a giant gun called the Dragon Jewel and a the Purple Pot pistol. She also has guns on her two boots, known as Tiger Heels.
Most characters in Project X Zone fight in pairs, but players can also meet solo characters that act kind of like assist characters. In battle, you can use their skills and call them in for an attack by pressing the L button. Solo characters are interchangeable so you can pair Arthur up with Tales of Vesperia leads Yuri and Estelle.
Arthur from Ghosts’n Goblins
Princess Devilotte de DeathSatan IX from Cyberbots (she has Jin’s Bloodia Punch)
Imca from Valkyria Chronicles 3
Rikiya Busujima from Zombie Revenge
Flynn from Tales of Vesperia
Altogether, you can have five different characters attack one enemy in Project X Zone. Two fighters come from your pair, then you have your solo unit, and a nearby support unit to dish out more damage.
Project X Zone comes out on October 11 in Japan.
