Steins;Gate is 5pb’s most successful franchise to date, but 5pb president, Chiyomaru Shikura, appears optimistic about the company’s next sci-fi visual novel adventure as well—Robotics;Notes.

Shikura revealed via Twitter this week that retail orders for Robotics;Notes are over 80,000. This, Shikura says, is a giant leap from when Steins;Gate was first released. (Of course, the fact that the game is multiplatform across Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 right off the bat could also have some bearing on the matter.)

5pb have already made the necessary preparations for Robotics;Notes to be a proper franchise, rather than just a single game. In addition to the game, an anime is scheduled to be aired in Japan this October, and a manga adaptation titled Robotics;Notes / Frau Side will debut in the August issue of Ultra Jump magazine.

Robotics;Notes will be released on June 28th for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
