Sol Trigger is following in the footsteps of Fate/Extra CCC. Imageepoch’s supposedly last epic RPG for PSP, has been pushed back from August 30 to October 4. Why?

The short story is retailers asked Imageepoch to hold the game back.

CEO Ryoei Mikage apologized to fans waiting for Sol Trigger gave a candid explanation on the company’s JRPG portal page. Mikage said distributors in Tokyo and Osaka were interested in the title, but asked him if it was possible to delay the game. There are too many titles coming out on August 30 and game sales will cannibalize each other in stores. Since distributors file their half-year earnings reports in September and Sol Trigger is an original title not tied to an established series estimating sales for the game is difficult. Mikage also says while these factors aren’t directly related to players, people won’t be able to buy the game if stores don’t stock it.

Mikage apologized again and said this is the reason why Imageepoch will release a free Sol Trigger demo on the PlayStation Store in July.
