Stan Lee, co-creator of many of Marvel Comics’ popular characters and stories, has made a number of cameo appearances in Marvel’s live-action movies for the past decade. This summer, he’s going to be making his next cameo in The Amazing Spider-Man videogame as a briefly-playable character.
Yahoo report that Stan Lee will be featured in his own special mission in Beenox’s upcoming game, which takes place after the events of the movie of the same name. The mission will be available to players who pre-order the game through Amazon, and will involve tracking down the pages of a lost manuscript.
While traversing New York, you’ll be treated to Lee’s trademark banter. We aren’t sure if you’ll actually be able to swing through New York as Lee during the mission as the screenshot above suggests.
“This wasn’t easy for me, practicing all these moves. I’m just afraid when they see me do it, that may put Spider-Man in the shadows," Lee jokes. “I hope they don’t have me looking too realistic and life-like. That would be tough for the Spider-Man fans. I swung through the city like an average guy would do, instead of giving it my usual derring-do.”
Note: Activision haven’t announced which versions of the game Stan Lee will be present in, but the screenshot above is from the Xbox 360 version of the game.
