Square Enix Registers "A Realm Reborn" Domains, Possibly Tied To FFXIV Reboot

On top of filing a trademark for A Realm Reborn, Square Enix registered domains for the slogan, which appear to be tied to Final Fantasy XIV. This poem from Final Fantasy XIV’s welcome back campaign was released a bit after our trademark discovery:

In the darkness the Crystal dreams

From the flames of Destruction
A new Beginning rises

Come, brave heroes
Heed the Crystal’s call

Gather once more
And witness a realm reborn.

On April 20th, Square Enix purchased arealmreborn.net and arealmreborn.com. Both sites are currently empty.

Between Final Fantasy XIV’s current incarnation and Final Fantasy XIV Version 2.0, the world will undergo a major change before the game re-launches (if all goes according to plan) this fall. A trailer for the new Final Fantasy XIV is slated to debut at E3.
