Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono may be easing up on his workload a little, but he’s still very much involved with the company’s fighting game movement. Case in point: he’s taken up an old habit once more, of teasing fans over Twitter.
This week, Capcom are conducting their annual “Captivate” event, where they reveal new games and provide more information on existing ones. This year’s event is taking place in Rome, and Ono tweeted today: “Hi good morning Rome! Today’s Captivate 1st day!! We’ll be announcement about some title and some news! ;D”
Later, he tweeted: “So we’re having Captivate at Rome just now! Fighting team had presentation for new future.”
The press embargo for Captivate will lift next week, so you’re free to speculate on what the fighting team’s presentation for a “new future” is all about. For starters, a Venturebeat rumour last month claimed that Darkstalkers 4 is in development, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that we’ll receive much in the way of details, even if the game is announced at Captivate. Time to play the waiting game!
