From the very beginning, Atlus decided to include Persona 3 and Persona 4 characters in Persona 4: The Arena. Both Arc System Works and Atlus contributed to the list. Speaking with 4gamer, producer Toshimichi Mori said he was pleased Aigis was a playable character. Takumi Iguchiya, programmer, said Mitsuru and Akihiko were also on the list in the very beginning.
Mori then revealed detective Ryotaro Dojima was also on the list even though he didn’t have a persona. Iguchiya joked he would have summoned Nanako instead, but Atlus would have chewed him out for saying that.
Labrys, a character from the Persona 3 drama CDs, is a key character and her story will be explained in the console version of Persona 4: Arena. Players will also find out what happened to Mitsuru and Akihiko after the events of Persona 3.
Since Atlus and Arc System Works are working together, 4gamer asked Mori if he would want Atlus to make a BlazBlue RPG. Mori said he would like to make a BlazBlue RPG, but he would want to do it himself rather than give it to Atlus. Instead Mori joked about putting Ragna into a surgery game or collaborating with the original author of Corpse Party.
