A Live-Action Horror Short To Promote Spirit Camera, The 3DS Fatal Frame Spin-Off

In January, Japan got an augmented reality Fatal Frame spin-off for the Nintendo 3DS. In April, this game is headed to North America. Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir comes with a 16-page augmented reality booklet that you view through the Nintendo 3DS camera in order to progress the game’s story. To help get this concept across, Nintendo had a mini-horror short produced:

Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir is about a girl named Maya. She’s hiding out in an old house, which is cursed by a mysterious black woman. It’s your job to help Maya escape. The AR book, called “The Diary of Faces,” has different effects. It can reveal flashback scenes or make ghosts attack you, for instance.

 

North America gets Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir on April 13th. The game is headed to Europe later this year, too. Like North America, Japan also got a horror short that was used to promote the game. You can watch that here.
