Atlus confirmed they will bring Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena to North America under a slightly different name – from this point on we’ll call it Persona 4: Arena. Persona 4: Arena is a fighting game from BlazBlue developer Arc System Works with the cast from Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 and a few guests from Persona 3.
The story takes place after the events in Persona 4 where a Teddie invites the Persona users into the Midnight Arena for a new TV show – a fighting tournament. The P-1 Grand Prix is being advertised on late-night TV and this program shows high school students fighting in battles with deadly stakes. The Investigation Team heads back inside the TV world to see what the P-1 Grand Prix is. Persona 4: The Arena will debut first in arcades with a console release slated for summer in Japan and North America. Atlus will add new console-exclusive story and online modes for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Persona 4: Arena.
