Ridge Racer’s usual mascot is Reiko Nagase, but Ridge Racer Unbounded actually has a new female lead character of its own: Kara Shindo, the leader of the “Unbounded” street racing gang in Shatter Bay. Keeping her impressed will be one of your goals in the game.

In a developer diary (above), developers, Bugbear Entertainment, say that more and more will be revealed about Shindo as you increase in rank and make progress, which sounds like there’s going to be a little bit of story in Ridge Racer Unbounded.

Ridge Racer: Unbounded will be released in Europe on March 30th. In Europe, Namco are preparing a special “day one” edition of the game, which will include three extra cars and five extra paint jobs based on the Pac Man, Galaga, Tekken, Soulcalibur and Ace Combat franchises.

Additionally, if you pre-order Ridge Racer: Unbounded in Europe from GAME stores or online at GAME.co.uk, you’ll get another six cars, including the hero cars from Ridge Racer, Ridge Racer 4 and Ridge Racer 7.
