Curious to know how Nintendo’s heavy-hitters did last year? The company’s financial results briefing gives us some insight into the worldwide sales of their recent Wii, Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS games.

All sales figures are as of December 2011. Take a look:

3DS (worldwide):

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D – 2.49 million

Mario Kart 7 – 4.54 million

Super Mario 3D Land – 5.03 million

Wii (worldwide):

Kirby’s Return to Dreamland – 1.21 million

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword – 3.42 million

DS (worldwide):

Kirby: Mass Attack – 1.01 million

Professor Layton and the Last Specter – 1.19 million (US/EU only)

Despite poor sales in Japan, Skyward Sword looks like it’s coming along OK. I’m more impressed by both Kirby titles breaking a million worldwide. Layton 4 is no slouch either, considering that those numbers account only for the U.S. and Europe, and Layton is the kind of game that tends to keep on selling well after release.
