Nintendo have published their financial results for their third fiscal quarter, ended in December 2011. Amidst the tables of revised forecasts is the number of worldwide Nintendo 3DS sales.

Nintendo say that, worldwide, they’ve sold 15.03 million Nintendo 3DS systems so far.  While that’s impressive, not all is rosy.

We mentioned revised forecasts. Despite strong 3DS performance, due to stronger-than-expected appreciation of the yen and current sales performance, Nintendo revised their forecast for the full year as follows:

Operating income: From operating income of 1 billion yen ($12.9 million) to operating loss of 20 billion yen ($257 million).

Net income: From a loss of 20 billion yen ($257 million) to a loss of 65 billion yen ($836 million).

Update: Slight modifications made to wording.
