Sony: PlayStation Vita Will Not Run Game Archives At Launch

Confirming what Famitsu informed prospective PlayStation Vita buyers earlier, Vita will not play Game Archives titles at launch. The news comes from an updated PlayStation Vita FAQ, which says when PS Vita goes on sale it will not support Game Archives. Details about Game Archives support will be announced later.

PsOne Classics and TurboGrafx-16 games are collectively known as Game Archives in Japan. PlayStation Vita launches in Japan on December 17 and February 22, 2012 in North America. While Sony Computer Entertainment America says PlayStation Vita will play PsOne Classics in their FAQ, the document does not specify when.
